This contemporary and quintessentially Australian designer draws inspiration from the transitional nature of clothing and the seasons
Lee Mathews has a painterly view of the sartorial. She looks at clothing in the abstract; how their colours, textures and patterns create a dynamism; one that is intrinsic to her creation of contemporary womenswear. Fabrication is both the start and end point of her process. It is the most important consideration before a piece takes on form, as it is also creates the final impression. Cotton, linen, denim, canvas, tweed, wool, and silk georgette are sourced from around the world and every print is designed in-house.
