Join us for a creative and educational workshop to promote and encourage circular fashion. During this workshop participants will learn how to mend a garment or make an alteration to a garment by hand. Baaby founder Amelia Mercoulia will be hosting the event and she will teach the following:
<ul>
<li>How to mend a hole in a garment</li>
<li>How to sew on buttons</li>
<li>How to hand stitch a blind hem</li>
</ul>
The idea was inspired Amelia’s grandparents who immigrated from Greece to Australia in the 1950s, both grandmothers working as seamstresses in Melbourne. The event will pay homage to their hard work and meticulous attention to detail in a time when Melbourne had a booming ragtrade.
The event will run for 1.5 hours, all materials for learning to mend your garment will be supplied. Refreshments upon arrival.
