Fashion Schools
Box Hill Institute
Box Hill Institute fashion programs teach aspiring designers sustainable design concepts as well as business, technical and digital skills.
Sustainable fashion is the core of our Fashion degree programs. This includes circular design and circular economy. Through collaborative industry projects students learn from in-house professionals. Industry workplace internships, industry visits, industry panel forums and industry presentations are all part of the student experience. The learning journey is exciting whilst students are prepared to be work ready from a local and international perspective.
STUDENTS
Lilly Cavallin
‘OMIT’ is inspired by the automotive industry, reflecting on the large amount of waste created when cars are abandoned or placed in scrap yards. The collection reclaims leather from these abandoned cars and transforms them into functional garments. This celebration of regeneration breathes new life into the leather, acting as an innovative way to push forward both the automotive and fashion industries.
Nam Tran
‘Behind the Bamboo’ draws inspiration from the daily lives and traditional craftsmanship of Vietnamese women. Capturing the essence of their resilience and elegance, Nam tells a story of strength and cultural pride. A fusion of traditional weaving techniques and contemporary design elements is seamlessly integrated with ideas of sustainability, cultural impact, and the preservation of cultural practices.
